ARLANXEO Presents Innovative Synthetic Rubber Solutions for Sustainability at RubberTech China 2023

Shanghai, September 4, 2023 – ARLANXEO today unveiled its cutting-edge and eco-friendly product portfolio and solutions for new energy, new mobility, and urbanization at RubberTech China 2023. Launched under the theme “Enabling Sustainable Synthetic Rubber Solutions”, ARLANXEO’s product portfolio demonstrates its long-term commitment to the local market and sustainability.

Driven by the goal of sustainable development, the focus on emission reduction and resource efficiency extends across energy generation and utilization processes. The industry is increasingly seeking high-performance, lighter, and greener solutions for advanced batteries, electricity systems and sustainable infrastructure materials. In response, ARLANXEO is accelerating innovations to contribute to the circular rubber value chain, supporting customers to co-create sustainable solutions.

For the new energy sector, ARLANXEO’s synthetic rubbers such as S-SBR, HIIR, HNBR, EPDM, CR and more are widely applied in high-performance tires, sealing products, wiring harnesses and air springs for new energy vehicles (NEVs), effectively improving vehicles’ durability, safety, and comfort. In particular, Therban® HNBR is expected to be an important processing aid for mobile power, due to its ability to improve the processing behavior of electrode coatings.

For the mobility sector, ARLANXEO highlighted its new Keltan® Eco portfolio, i.e., ISCC+ certified products, further developed from the bio-based and sugar cane-extracted grade. Keltan® EPDM is widely applied to produce hoses, seals and gaskets for thermal management systems of automobile. Last but not least, ARLANXEO’s Baypren® CR, renowned for its excellent resistance to crack growth and weathering, emerged as an ideal choice for air springs.

In the urbanization sector, ARLANXEO presented its Levamelt® EVM used in Polyurethane Reactive (PUR) hotmelts modification. With better flexibility, higher green strength and extended open time for PUR hotmelts, the grade can be used in adhesives for woodwork, bookbinding and packaging solutions. In addition, ARLANXEO also presented the low VOCs grade Krynac® NBR, which offers excellent oil resistance and mechanical properties, making it ideal for construction materials like floors, seals, and pipes, with low VOC emitting in enclosed environments.

During the RubberTech Technical Conference, Dr. Minjie Chen, Senior TSAD Manager, Greater China, ARLANXEO, delivered a presentation entitled “ARLANXEO Synthetic Rubber Enables Industry Sustainability”. Dr. Chen introduced ARLANXEO’s leading products applicable to auto parts and urban life, such as tires, seals and wires that contribute to energy saving and emissions reduction while providing more comfortable traveling experiences, in line with the development of NEVs and electrification.

“We have a promising prospect on the development of the new energy and its related industries that has brought increasing potential for synthetic rubber applications. To this end, ARLANXEO is committed to  supporting our customers with our innovative solutions, customized services and reliable production and supply,” said Boyang Lu, Vice President Sales, Greater China, ARLANXEO.
